It’s hard to take your exercise routine with you on the road, especially when you are traveling for pleasure with family or loved ones. So what are some quick and easy ways to sneak in a workout?

Walk to Destination: Are you going somewhere that has nice weather, and a nice walkable community. Cause if you are, park the vehicle for the day and get out and walk from destination to destination. This is a great way to explore the city, get active, avoid stressful driving, and discover hidden gems throughout the city that you otherwise wouldn’t find!

Squat Breaks:
Sometimes I feel like I have excess energy and calories to burn off, and a simple way is to do 20-30 body weight squats. These can be done anytime, like of you are getting ready or waiting for someone else to get ready. Or if you are taking a breather in the hotel room. Even if you go for a quick bathroom break. Squeezing in 20-30 squats takes less than 60 seconds and is a good way to sneak in a mini exercise.

Hotel Gym:
Does your hotel have a fitness centre or swimming pool? Do you have a time of the day where you can spare 15-20 minute visit to that area of the hotel? Cause if you do, you can get the heart rate pounding pretty good in 15 minutes so as to burn a little extra calories and not be taking away from the trip.

Activities!
There’s always lots of options on vacation to get out there and take part in activities! Walking tours, bike tours, hiking, you can find so many options and they don’t all cost huge amounts of money. So find something exciting for you and your family to do!

The fact of the matter is, when you are traveling you want to focus on traveling and exploring and seeing new things because that is why you are traveling! But there’s simple solutions out there to take advantage of downtime on the trip to expend just a little but if effort so as to increase the heart rate for a quick boost of metabolic activity!
